Responsibility beyond our products
For us, sustainability is also about taking responsibility beyond our own products. We engage in several projects and collaborations where, together with others, we can contribute to increased sustainability.
Nepal Mountain Clean-up
The Himalayas attract adventurers from all over the world, but the mountains pay a high price in the form of litter. That is why we support Avni Adventures, which in collaboration with the Nepalese army organises annual clean-up expeditions. Waste is collected and recycled – including used gas canisters that may be left behind after expeditions. Littering in the mountains is a major problem, and for us it is only natural to contribute in the ways we can.
EOCA – supporting conservation & restoration
We are proud members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), where outdoor companies jointly support projects that protect and restore nature. Through EOCA, we help preserve the environments we ourselves love to explore and ensure that outdoor activities leave as small a footprint as possible – creating a truly sustainable outdoor life. The Silva Care More Scholarship
Every autumn, Silva, together with the Swedish Orienteering Federation, awards the Silva Care More Scholarship (Silvastipendiet Care More) to a person or club that has done something extra for the environment, inclusion or gender equality within the sport of orienteering. By highlighting positive role models, we hope to inspire and motivate more people in orienteering to focus on these areas.
Anyone can, at the beginning of autumn, nominate a person or club that has done something extra for the environment, inclusion or gender equality within orienteering. Towards the end of autumn, the board of the Silva Foundation selects the recipient of the SEK 25,000 scholarship.
