ULTRA RUNNING

What are your favorite products from Silva?
I use Silva Free for longer ultra adventures and cycling/ski mountaineering. For shorter runs, I use a smaller headlamp, Trail Runner Free 2. I use all the Strive backpacks, from the slimmed-down Strive Fly to the Strive Mountain Pack, depending on what I need to pack. For multi-day trips and ski mountaineering I use the Strive Mountain Pack, for ultra runs the Strive 5/10L, and Fly is my "everyday vest". I also use dry-bags all the time, for everything: packing for trips, shoe storage, dog bowl, etc.

What does running give you?
Running feeds my soul with adventure, challenge, and beauty. It’s a simple and beautiful way to spend time in nature.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to start with ultra running or sky running?
The best advice I have is to think of trail and ultra running as adventures rather than just "training". Perhaps it's not the pace or time that matters most but the experience, challenge, and location. It also means thinking about equipment more like an adventurer. What do you need, a running vest, fluids, snacks, extra clothing, a headlamp, a GPS watch?

What do you like to do on a rest day?
Cook food.
