BASEPLATE COMPASS
The baseplate compass is the most common type of compass. Its rotating compass housing makes it easy to take a bearing and navigate using the Silva 1-2-3 system. Many models also feature map scales that make it easier to measure distances directly on the map.
Depending on the model, the compass may also include features such as a clinometer, declination adjustment and a magnifying glass for more advanced navigation.
Our most popular compass families are Ranger and Expedition.

SIGHTING COMPASSES
If you need to navigate over longer distances, a sighting compass can be a great choice. Thanks to the mirror, you can view both the compass and a landmark in the terrain at the same time, making it easier to take an accurate bearing.
Sighting compasses are particularly well suited to open terrain where precision over longer distances is important.
Our most popular sighting compasses are the Ranger S and Expedition S.

GLOBAL NEEDLE
Most compasses are balanced for a specific magnetic zone. If you plan to navigate in different parts of the world, a compass with a global needle can be a great choice. It works in all of the Earth's magnetic zones, giving you a versatile compass for travel and outdoor adventures around the world.
Our most popular compasses with a global needle are the Ranger Global and Expedition Global.
